About Munpa Rabsel
Empowering Nuns Through Digital Literacy
Munpa Rabsel is a community-driven initiative based in the Norbulingka area of Dharamshala, currently in the process of formal registration as a non-profit NGO. We believe that Buddhist nuns possess immense potential as educators due to their discipline and compassion, yet they often lack the specialized digital training needed to lead in modern schools and educational institutes. Our mission is to bridge this gap by transforming nuns into digitally-literate holistic educators.
Our Vision in Action
Since our launch in early 2025, our vision has already begun to bear fruit. Through our specialized online classes, trained nuns are currently teaching Tibetan language and philosophy to students across the USA, Colombia, and Canada.
OUR TEAM
Tenzin Norgyal Founder & Educator
Tenzin Norgyal is an educator dedicated to bridging ancient Tibetan wisdom with modern pedagogical needs. His vision for Munpa Rabsel is rooted in over a decade of immersion in both academic and monastic worlds.
After completing his graduate studies in commerce in 2012, Tenzin spent five years specializing in Buddhist Philosophy at renowned institutions, including the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics (2015–2018) and Gyudmed Monastery. Since 2018, he has served as an English teacher at Dolma Ling Nunnery, where he engages daily in debate and witnesses the dedication of the nuns.
Through this work, he recognized the urgent need to unlock their potential as professional educators for the benefit of Tibetan society and the global community.
