Inauguration of New Office cum Studio & Learning Lab
On May 17, 2026, we celebrated the official inauguration of our new office cum studio and learning lab! This space marks a major milestone for the Munpa Rabsel Holistic Educational Centre, serving as a dedicated hub where nuns receive hands-on training in digital literacy, educational filmmaking, digital storytelling, and animation. While the lab is now active with basic equipment to kickstart our initial workshops, we need your support to realize its full potential. We are actively seeking donations to upgrade our infrastructure and secure the essential multimedia tools required for high-quality production. Empowering Young Nuns Through Holistic Care and Modern Pedagogy
Held at the Shugsep Nunnery Library, this collaborative workshop brought together educators and participants from Geden Choeling, Dolmaling, and Shugsep nunneries to explore compassionate, well-rounded approaches to nurturing young student nuns. The program addressed key pillars of health, physical well-being, emotional care, and academic empowerment within monastic communities. Key Focus Areas & Sessions: Survey Data & Policy Alignment: Presenting comparative insights from four nunneries and 400 nuns alongside India's National Education Policy (NEP) framework (Led by Tenzin Norgyal). Early Childhood Care in Monasteries: Practical caregiving strategies tailored to emotional and physical well-being in monastic settings (Led by Jamyang Gyaltsen). Early Literacy & Reading: Interactive, engaging techniques to cultivate lifelong reading habits from a young age (Led by Tsering Dolma). Modern Pedagogical Methods: Integrating modern instructional tools and student-centered approaches into traditional monastic education (Led by Geshe Lharampa Jampa Kelsang). Digital Teaching & Self-Expression: Opening online learning pathways and strengthening confidence in public communication and instruction (Led by Kunga Choeyang).
Expanding Digital Heritage: Wikipedia Workshop
On March 7–8, 2026, 31 nuns—including our core team and 3 monastic teachers—gathered at Dolmaling Nunnery for a Tibetan Wikipedia workshop. Participants mastered digital archiving and citations, empowering them to preserve traditional wisdom on a global scale. We are proud to see these scholars leading the way in digital cultural stewardship.
Bridging Tradition and Technology: Core Team Training
On April 11–12, 2026, Munpa Rabsel’s core team of seven nuns completed an intensive Architecting the Learner Transformation workshop at our new office. By mastering Sherab/edX Studio and AI-driven design, the team is now fully equipped to blend traditional wisdom with modern digital pedagogy for our global community.
Digital Creators Workshop
From January 31 to February 6, 2026, six of our nuns traveled to Bodh Gaya to participate in the Buddhist Creators Convention. During this intensive week-long program, they received specialized training in digital content creation, video editing, and storytelling. This experience has equipped our team with the skills to share the Dharma and our cultural heritage with a global audience.
The Rowell Fund for Tibet
On January 1, 2026, Munpa Rabsel was honored to receive a generous grant of $3,000 USD from the prestigious Rowell Fund for Tibet. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Rowell Fund for believing in our vision. This support strengthens our mission to empower nuns as modern educators and provides the essential resources to launch our digital training initiatives.
